Gender Affirming Care Letters
Letters of Support for Gender Affirming Care
Most medical professionals and institutions require a formal letter of support from a mental health professional before providing gender affirming surgery. I have experience providing letters of support for clients seeking gender affirming care, and I am happy to write letters on behalf of new and existing clients.
Gender Affirming Care Letter Process:
-
Collaborative Assessment: We'll discuss your feelings, experiences, and hopes related to your gender identity and the desired care.
-
Comprehensive Letters: Following our session, I will provide a form letter highlighting alignment between DSM-V criteria for gender dysphoria and the information you provide to highlight the benefits of your desired care from a clinical perspective.
-
Full transparency: I will share a copy of the letter with you, and we will work together to ensure you are comfortable with the information shared within the letter.
